What To Expect : Itinerary
Day 1 Marrakech – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge: 320 KM
Departure from Marrakech in the morning by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and its villages melted on the slopes, on the mountainside. Several breaks en route and including the summit of the pass at nearly 2260m. Detour for a visit of the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, dating from the 11th century and classified World Heritage by UNESCO. Duration: 3 hours Admission Ticket Free la vallée des roses Walk on the site then departure towards Ouarzazate before continuing towards the valley of the roses and a thousand kasbahs, Boumalne Dadès and the Dades gorges famous for its curiously shaped mountains. Day 2 Dades Gorge – Todghra Gorge – Merzouga: 260KM
Visit the Todghra Gorge, extraordinary cliffs 300m high and impressive natural canyons of ocher and red earth. A small incursion into the palm grove, one of the largest in Morocco. Duration: 2 hours Admission Ticket Free Oasispalmares departure direction Erfoud. Stop a bit before Tinjdad for a visit to the oasis of El Khorbat and its ksar dating from the 19th century, beautifully preserved. Optional visit of the Oasis Museum. Duration: 4 hours Admission Ticket Free Erg Chebbi Dunes Continue to the Tafilalet valley and the pre-Saharan Oases to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi). Departure in camel trek (2 hours), dinner and night in bivouac after watching the sunset in the dunes. Duration: 1 hour Admission Ticket Free Accommodation: a night at the bivouac. Day 3 Merzouga – Tafilalet – Gorges of Ziz – Midelt: 250 KM
After attending early sunrise, new camel trek and breakfast with shower at the Atlas Inn sand. Departure direction Erfoud by the palm of Tafilalet, the largest of Morocco. Visit Duration: 2 hours Admission Ticket Free La Source Bleu de Meski departure direction Errachidia. Stop for a visit of the blue springs of Meski, ancient stopover of the blue men who gave it its name before entering the gorges of Ziz and the tunnel of the legionnaire along a series of fortified villages whose architecture announces that of the pre-Saharan oases . Day 4 Midelt – Cedar forest – Azrou – Fès: 250 KM
Morocco Unexplored – Private Day Tours Departure towards Boulojoul and Timhadite before stop at the lake of Aguelmame Sidi Ali, at the foot of the mountain of the same name in a pre-alpine landscape of cedars and oaks. Continue to Azrou, a mountain village that owes its name to the large rocky peak on which it is established, also famous for its crafts and jewelers. Continue to Ifrane, little Switzerland before arriving in Fez. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Duration: 4 hours Admission Ticket Free Accommodation: Accommodation in hotel. Day 5 Fes :
City Tour 1 Stop Medina of Fez Visit of the city and the old medina, the oldest of Morocco (8th century), characterized by the narrowness of its busy shopping streets, the refinement of its crafts, its sumptuous mosques, libraries and Koranic schools, finally its gigantic doors that separate it from the new city. Day 6 Fez – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknes: 90KM
Departure in the morning after breakfast for Volubilis, the largest and best preserved Roman ruins of Morocco on a hill in the middle of fertile plains. Duration: 2 hours Admission Ticket Free Moulay Idriss Zerhoun departure for Moulay Idriss, a few kilometers, village with white houses, high place of pilgrimage in the kingdom Duration: 1 hour Admission Ticket Free Meknes Medina Continue to Meknes, former Alaouite capital nicknamed the Versailles of Morocco at the foot of the Middle Atlas. Day 7 Meknes – Rabat – Casablanca: 190KM
Kasbah des Oudaias Departure for the city of Rabat, administrative capital of Morocco. Seaside city, a walk along the ocean is essential, as well as the visit of its classified sites: the Kasbah Oudayas, dating from the 12th century, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and finally the Hassan tower overlooking the bay dirty. Provision of an official guide for a historic visit (optional). Tour of the city and its surroundings, palace, gardens. Departure for Casablanca. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8 Casablanca – Marrakech: 240KM
The morning is devoted to the visit of Casablanca to admire the mosque Hassan 2 and make the visit as well as that of the ledge which dominates the ocean. Continue for a glimpse of the Habous district and if time permits a stop in the small medina, the place Mohamed V. Departure for Marrakech after lunch break. Arrival at the end of the afternoon.
